Developed from a series of machine embroidered ‘postcards’ I have been using my iPhone to take random snaps of figure formations in landscapes or architectural space.

I have considered the notion of the ‘second hand’ or ‘found’ image; how snapshots of variable quality taken on a camera phone or screenshots  can be cropped, enhanced, manipulated, re- worked in another medium. Taking figures in the landscape as the ‘motif’ I have processed them digitally, then crafted them manually as a series of embroidered samplers.
